Two-fer Tuesday in Rockford, IL - First Stop

 
First stop was the Severson Dells Nature Center. Less than a 3 mile loop.  No pets allowed although I did see someone with a dog.  A few end-of-year school trips in the nature center that were going on a guided tour.

 
Found this guy sunning himself in the pond.

 Not sure what birds may have hollowed out this tree for their nests.

 These were seen from the observation room in the nature center.
