More Will County Winter

Mild mid January day and needed to get outside.  Went to the tiny Isle La Cache Museum in Romeoville, around the little trail.

And I think some of my work days are long. . .

Looks like an outdoor area for some of the summer programs
Small branch of the Des Plaines Rivers with some flowing water
T
Then went across and down the street to Centennial Trail and the I & M (Illinois & Michigan) sanitary and ship canal.
According to online information I found, this arch sends oil over the canal from (or to) the Citgo refinery.
Sanitary & Ship Canal Bridge no longer in use, but is now part of the Centennial Trail

The Centennial Trail - 11 miles long.
Forest preserves in the dead of winter

Deer tracks in the snow
Abandoned bridge tender house on the Sanitary & Ship Canal bridge.

Then back to Plainfield and the west side of Lake Renwick on Route 30 access
Some animal, I think deer, had been walking across the lake when it was frozen.
Looking east - continuation of the tracks in the melting ice.

Canada geese are around all times of the year, but these probably came from farther north.
