Indiana Covered Bridges

September 15 - 18, 2015

I had a chance to meet some of the ladies from the Women RV forum which was a lot of fun and nice to put real faces to the names.  A group of us met down at Rockville Lake Park in Rockville, Indiana.

L-R:  Roberta (bertk523), Sara , Claudia (Wings), Liz, Sue (Colliemom), Carol (carolinagal), Brenda (Sue's friend)

We did the Black route driving tour of the covered bridges, unfortunately, at the second bridge, Sue discovered her hitch had been stolen off of her truck.  We back-tracked to the campground with the hope that is just fell off, but it was definitely stolen.  Sue and Brenda then went to an RV dealer to get a new one, and the rest of us continued on the tour.

I was a little disappointed.  I don't know why I thought the bridges would all be different, but they were all the same.  This is the bridge where we think Sue's hitch was stolen.

Views from both sides of the bridges.

Since we retuned to the campground, we decided to go into Rockville for lunch at the Jailhouse CafĂ©.
City hall (currently under scaffolding).

Continuing on the Black route of bridges.

 The Bridgeton Bridge and mill.

A sign inside of the mill.

A couple of the bridges you can actually drive thru.
We (Liz, Brenda, Sue, Roberta, and Claudia) were on the lake side of the campground where there was an upper and lower level.  The majority of us were on the upper level with Sara and Carol on the lower level.
